Like all councils in two-tier areas, East Herts District Council has received a statutory invitation from the Government to submit proposals for the reorganisation of local government structures in the county. The letter received sets out the criteria for reorganisation, as well as the timescale in which it must be considered. It asks that initial plans be submitted in March, before full proposals are submitted in November.

BEAM, formerly Hertford Theatre, has announced Steve Sargeant as their new Commercial and Cultural Development Manager. He succeeds Rhys Thomas, who oversaw Hertford Theatre previously and throughout it’s renovation. Within this new venue, he will be responsible for ensuring the cultural and commercial success of BEAM.

Priors Wood primary school in Ware has won a £250 prize as part of East Herts Council’s DEFRA-funded Breathe Clean initiative. The prize recognizes the school’s efforts over the last twelve months to educate students and parents on what contributes to air pollution and to promote active travel alternatives. The prize will be used to fund more scooter storage.
