This September and October, residents across East Herts can look forward to a packed programme of arts and cultural events as Arts in East Herts makes its return for 2025.
East Herts Council is set to begin public engagement on its Vision work, which will shape the update of the district plan once the government introduces the new national planning system.
East Herts Council has responded to a planning application made to Uttlesford District Council relating to an increase in passenger numbers up to 51 million per annum (mppa), which would be 8mppa above the already consented 43mppa, and the construction of two new taxiway links to the existing runway at Stansted Airport. The proposal would not increase the number of flights allowed to take place at the airport as the additional passenger numbers would be accommodated through using larger aircraft.

As part of this change, all households will shortly receive a letter outlining whether their collection day is changing and detailing the new three-weekly collection cycle.

Hertfordshire has launched its first ever countywide Retrofit Strategy this week, following a 50-strong stakeholder event on 8 July – a collaborative roadmap developed by councils, businesses, colleges, housing associations and local organisations to accelerate home energy efficiency improvements across the county.
East Herts Council is supporting Anti-social Behaviour Awareness week this year between Monday, 30 June and Saturday, 5 July. The theme for this year is #MakingCommunitiesSafer, and so members of the East Herts Community Safety Partnership (CSP) will be conducting engagement sessions across the district to provide help and information to local communities.
Following a successful launch last year, Arts in East Herts is back for a second year, bringing more creative opportunities to the district and inviting local individuals and organisations to get involved through a newly opened grant scheme.
