You may spot some new additions to town centres in East Herts as new recycling bins are installed across the district - part of ongoing efforts to promote recycling, reduce litter and re-direct waste from landfill.

East Herts Council licensing and enforcement officers jointly co-ordinated an operation with Sergeant Terry Alcock from Hertfordshire Police’s East Herts Rural Safer Neighbourhood Team last week (Wednesday, 26 October) specifically targeted at companies without the necessary licences to dispose of waste safely and individuals using dangerous, unroadworthy vehicles in the district.

Opportunities to create new wildflower meadows have been identified across the district to help boost habitats for a variety of wildlife - including pollinating insects such as bees, butterflies, flies, moths and beetles that are in decline.
