The proposal includes up to 600 homes, up to 60 units of accommodation for older people, a local centre and other facilities.
East Herts Council is disappointed that the Planning Inspector has allowed the appeal, having robustly defended its decision at the inquiry. In reaching the decision, the inspector gave significant weight to the need for new homes and to the recently revised National Planning Policy Framework.
The council is now carefully reviewing the Inspector's decision and taking legal advice to fully understand its implications before considering any further steps.
