“We had originally planned a six-week consultation, starting on 5 June, inviting everyone who lives and works in our district to share their views on a new Vision that will guide the updating of the District Plan.
“However, this timing now overlaps with the pre-election period for the Hertford Town Council by-elections on 10 July. While the council can continue its usual business during this time, it’s important that consultations, especially one as significant and far-reaching as this, are carefully considered during this sensitive time.
“To ensure the consultation can take place without any risk of breaching publicity restrictions, we’ve decided to reschedule it to begin on 1 September, after the school holidays.
“I look forward to hearing from as many local people as possible once the full consultation on the Vision begins.”
