Local Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plans (LCWIPs) aim to make it easier, safer, and more enjoyable for people to walk, wheel, or cycle for work, school, everyday journeys, and leisure. In the coming months, East Herts District Council, in partnership with Hertfordshire County Council, will be asking for community views on the East Herts LCWIP draft route network map.

In preparation for this, residents can register their interest online now to take part, and to help shape the future of walking and cycling in the district. Communities in the following areas will have the opportunity to identify the barriers they face, whilst also being able to offer suggestions towards improving the draft network route map:

•    Hertford and Ware
•    Bishop’s Stortford and Sawbridgeworth
•    Buntingford
•    Villages including Braughing, Hertford Heath, Hunsdon, Much Hadham, Standon & Puckeridge, Stanstead Abbotts & St Margarets, Walkern and Watton-at-Stone

Alongside the physical and mental health benefits of residents having access to a safe and effective network route map, the East Herts LCWIP will further assist in reducing carbon emissions and lowering air pollution levels across the district. It will additionally support the local economy.

Residents can register their interest here.
