Tyres dumped in layby
The council is appealing for information to help track down illegal fly-tippers following a spate of recent incidents.

Stacks of motorcycle tyres were discarded in Bakers lane and Rook End in Sawbridgeworth, and around the A10 in laybys at the Hertford, Standon and Hamels Lane junctions.

The council hopes the public can provide vital information to help its investigation.

Councillor Graham McAndrew, Executive Member for Environmental Sustainability, said: “We believe one person or business is likely responsible for these incidents as the dumped tyres are similar. Information from the public is key and if anyone suspects an individual or business that may be involved, we urge them to get in touch.

“We’re also asking anyone that may have seen something untoward in Sawbridgeworth or along the A10 to contact us, and for everyone to remain vigilant in the weeks ahead.”
