East Herts Council is investing £32m to improve its leisure facilities.

Hartham Leisure Centre in Hertford will be renovated and expanded with a brand new state-of-the-art gym, additional studio spaces, a new café opening onto Hartham Common, a soft play facility, improved changing facilities and refurbishment of the pool hall.

Following the public consultation, the planning application for this renovation and extension has been submitted and is now available to view and comment on. The application can be viewed by visiting the planning portal and using reference: 3/20/1814/FUL.

Eric Buckmaster, executive member for wellbeing at East Herts Council said:
“We have now submitted our planning application for the Hartham Leisure Centre refurbishment and extension. We are delighted to be moving forward and making such a worthwhile investment and to be able to provide great facilities to support the health and wellbeing of our residents.

“We encourage current and potential future users of Hartham to take a look at the plans and share their comments on them. This will be your leisure centre so it is important that we deliver facilities that meet your needs.”
