Pay Policy and Gender Pay Gap Report

In 2017 the government introduced legislation that made it statutory for organisations with 250 or more employees to publish their gender pay gap information, covering pay and bonuses.

A pay policy statement is required to be produced annually under section 38 of the Localism Act. Regard is to be had to any guidance from the Secretary of State in producing this statement.

Any decision under powers delegated in the Council's Constitution with regard to remuneration to be taken from 1 April 2021 to 31 March 2022 will be bound by and must comply with this Statement.

East Herts Council has published its 2023 figures, and the action plan it has put in place to reduce the gender pay gap.
