Northgate End Development

The development of Northgate End includes the construction of 15 residential apartments, ground floor commercial space and a new multi-storey car park. It is the enabling development for the wider revitalisation of Old River Lane, freeing up prime land in the heart of Bishop's Stortford – formerly used for surface car parking – for new arts, culture, shopping and leisure.

The Northgate End multi-storey opened to the public on Monday, 13 June, delivering much needed parking to serve the growing population of Bishop’s Stortford and vibrant business community.

It features 573 parking spaces, including 54 electrical vehicle charging points and 31 disabled bays.

The development also created a wet woodland in conjunction with the de-culverting of Old River Stort.
