Gaming Machines

Licensing information for Gaming Machines.

Licensed Premises

The holder of a Premises Licence, which authorises the supply of alcohol under the Licensing Act 2003, may serve a notice on the Licensing Authority notifying them of their intention to provide up to two category C or D gaming machines at their premises.

Permits do not expire but become invalid if the premises licence changes hands.

Notification of two or less Gaming Machines

Club Premises

The Act creates a separate regime for gaming in clubs from that in other relevant alcohol licensed premises. It defines two types of club for the purposes of gaming:

  • members' clubs (including miners' welfare institutes)
  • commercial clubs.

The type of club affects the gaming that may take place.
