After more than three years as Executive Member for Planning and Growth at East Herts Council and ward member for Hertford Kingsmead, Councillor Vicky Glover-Ward has resigned from the council.
East Herts Council and Hertfordshire County Council have adopted a new Local Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plan (LCWIP) for the district, which will help make it easier, safer and more enjoyable to walk, wheel and cycle in East Herts, whether for work or for leisure.
Residents are being invited to help shape the future of East Herts as the council launches a public consultation on its new Local Plan, which will guide development across the district until 2044.

Whilst early preparatory work has been underway for some time now, formal notice of plan preparation is due to be given in June, when a Scoping Consultation will be launched.

East Herts Council has responded to a planning application made to Uttlesford District Council relating to an increase in passenger numbers up to 51 million per annum (mppa), which would be 8mppa above the already consented 43mppa, and the construction of two new taxiway links to the existing runway at Stansted Airport. The proposal would not increase the number of flights allowed to take place at the airport as the additional passenger numbers would be accommodated through using larger aircraft.
East Herts Council’s Executive is set to approve a public engagement exercise for a new strategic vision for the district, which will serve as the ‘golden thread’ for the updated Local Plan.
