Rules and regulations for our parks and open spaces including sky lanterns, helium balloons, scattering of ashes, memorial benches and the protection of the environment and wildlife.

Release of Sky Lanterns and Helium Balloons on Council owned land

To protect the environment and wildlife, the release of Sky Lanterns and Helium filled balloons is banned from East Herts Council land, including all our parks and open spaces.

Scattering of ashes on Council owned land

The Council has not adopted a formal policy relating to the scattering of ashes, but whilst considering previous requests we have developed some Guidance on scattering of ashes [109KB] .

Memorial benches on Council owned land

The Council has not adopted a formal policy relating to memorial benches in our parks and open spaces, but whilst considering previous requests we have developed some Guidance on Memorial benches [108KB] .
