During severe weather, especially cold snaps or snowfall, many council services can be affected. This page contains the latest service updates from across the council.

Refuse and Recycling

Please remember to bring your bins back in as soon as possible after they are emptied to avoid them blowing over into roads and shelter them from the wind by a wall if possible to prevent them falling over.   

Dangerous Buildings

If you become aware of a building that has been damaged and so could be dangerous:

•    out of hours, contact East Herts Council on 01279 655261.

Road Gritting / Salting

Although East Herts Council Street Cleansing and Grounds Maintenance teams often assist; Road Gritting/Salting, Pavement Gritting/Salting and the provision/re-stocking of public gritting bins is undertaken by Hertfordshire County Council.
