The Mayor of Bishop's Stortford, Richard Townsend, and councillors from East Herts Council joined Friends of Castle Park volunteers and local residents to plant new trees in Bishop’s Stortford’s Castle Park last Saturday.
East Herts Council is inviting voluntary and community groups, not-for-profit organisations, faith groups, and town and parish councils to apply for funding through its community grant scheme.
East Herts Council is working with Hertfordshire County Council’s Countryside Management Service to create wildflower meadows in parks across the district in Autumn 2023.
Visitors who came to celebrate #LoveParksWeek at the East Herts Council family-friendly events in Southern Country Park, Bishop’s Stortford and Pishiobury Park, Sawbridgeworth last week enjoyed dog shows, craft activities, face painting, meet-ups with cows, bug hunts, and fitness trails, together with visits from Hertfordshire Police Service and Dogability.
This week East Herts Council is launching a campaign to support the #WorthSaving initiative which aims to tackle the issue of avoidable food waste by encouraging residents to follow a ‘four steps to save’ food waste journey to develop better habits.
