Garden Waste Subscription Service

Our garden waste subscription service is an optional service that provides a convenient way to recycle your garden waste.

It runs on an annual subscription basis, allowing you to join at any time, but please note that if you sign up with less than two weeks before your first collection, we are unable to guarantee your subscription will be set up in time and therefore a collection may be missed.

Subscribing means your your garden waste is composted which is better for the environment as all of the valuable nutrients can be used, it also means you will not need to use your purple lidded bin which is collected every three weeks.

If you are not sure about subscribing for us to collect your garden waste, why not consider home composting?

• Subscription Timing: You can subscribe at any time; however, you will still pay the subscription amount, the council does not offer a pro-rata collection.

• Processing Time: After subscribing, it may take up to two weeks to process your request and, if needed, deliver a new bin. This may not be in time for your next scheduled collection if it is within the next two weeks.

• Annual Payment: The annual fee covers collections from 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2027, with the exception of one collection which will not occur over the Christmas and New Year holiday period.

• Additional Bins: You can pay for up to two extra garden waste bins (giving you a total of three bins) for your property through our garden waste portal.

Please ensure you have read the terms and conditions first, and make sure you have a valid email address and your debit or credit card details to hand before you start.

• Single Subscription: £61 per bin for collections from 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2027.
• Additional Bins: £61 per year for each additional garden waste bin’s collection (the subscription cost for the service), plus £40 for the supply and delivery of each additional bin.

• Schedule: Collections occur every two weeks.

• Bin Placement: Bins should be presented at your property's boundary by 6:30am on collection day.

• Identification: Your subscription sticker must be attached to your bin/s and made visible for the crews. We also recommend marking your bin with your house number.

• Missed Collections: If your bin isn't collected, report it within 48 hours. If the bin was not collected because it contained incorrect materials, remove them, and we'll empty it on the next scheduled collection day. If your bin was not presented by 6:30am on your collection day our crew will not return

• Assisted Collections: If you receive assistance for other waste services, this will continue for garden waste. Ensure the bin is visible at the front of your property.
