The Ridgeway local Park is a Green Flag Award winning park.

The Ridgeway Local Park has successfully retained the prestigious Green Flag Award first won in 2009, it's a great place to visit and a key part of the local community.

Features

Investment & Development

Over £150,000 of internal and external funding has been invested in the development of the park. Works to the open space have included a new older children's play area and access route into the lower Dell area, and the protection of the shrub planting from rabbit grazing damage. The local community has helped plant trees within the park and the new play equipment has proved to be very popular and well used.

The Ridgeway Local Park has improved considerably through the successful implementation of these major works over the last few years. With the implementation of the new ten-year management plan  Ridgeway Management Plan 2022-2032 , it continues to develop as an important open space for the local community and is now part of the Hertford Health Walks programme - more information on the individual walks is available the Countryside Management website

The Ridgeway Local Park is a Green Flag Award winning park - see The Ridgeway Response to Judges 2018 [5MB]  for more information on how the park has been improved over the years.

An initial The Ridgeway Local Park Greenspace Action Plan 2015 - 2020 [16MB]  management plan was created to guide the project works in the park to develop The Dell new older children's play area in the lower section of the park and to apply for the first Green Flag Award in 2009.
