Grange Paddocks

Grange Paddocks is one of the main open spaces in Bishop's Stortford. Featuring a leisure centre, gym, football pitches, a running track, community fitness zones and lovely walk through the open space.

There is also a popular walk from Sworders Field in the town centre across Grange Paddocks along the River Stort and through woodland and meadowland into Red, White and Blue Open space.

We are currently working with the Countryside Management Service and other partners to develop a management plan for the park - further information will be made available soon.

Bishop’s Stortford is situated in East Herts, near to the Herts/Essex border. It’s 30 miles from London and less than 20 minutes by car from Junction 27 of the M25 via the M11 motorway.

There are regular rail services from London Liverpool Street to Bishop’s Stortford

Grange Paddocks Leisure Centre

The new leisure centre has been built to the south of the former leisure centre, which has now been demolished following the completion of the new facility. The development also includes a range of external improvements, including the relocation of existing pitches, new landscaping and outdoor seating areas, a new play area, and the creation of a new all-weather 3G pitch and tennis courts. 

Community Fitness Trail 

The Community Fitness Trail has three workout fitness stations located at points on the marked grass running track around the open space.  Our Grange Paddocks Community Fitness Trail plan  shows the new equipment and locations

Geocaching

Geocaching is an outdoor treasure hunt using GPS enabled devices. Participants navigate to a set of co-ordinated and then try and find a hidden container.  We have hidden geocaches in Southern Country Park and Grange Paddocks open space in Bishop's Stortford.
