Taxis - Travel with Confidence Assurance Mark

The Travel with Confidence Assurance Mark indicates that the taxi driver has gained a safety accreditation aimed to keep customers and workers safe from Coronavirus.

If the mark is displayed it means that the driver and operating company have told us they have taken extra measures to keep you as safe as possible: they have carried out risk assessments on their procedures and they have undergone specialist training to help minimise the risk of infection spread to passengers.

Drivers who display the mark will be expected to demonstrate high levels of cleanliness, infection control and understanding of how to reduce risk to customers.

Drivers should be able to explain their individual business risk assessment to you if you ask and they should also explain the ways in which they reduce risk, such as what cleaning products are used and how often.

Compliance checks are made by the council that issued the driver with his licence. This ensures that the Travel with Confidence standards are maintained and you can be confident that the driver is taking steps to minimise the risk of infection.

Booking Accredited Vehicles

Please support the businesses that have gone the extra mile to keep you safe, by looking out for the mark on transport providers’ vehicles.

When booking a private hire vehicle for a journey you can ask them if they have an accredited driver available if that would be your preference.

Accredited drivers can be found on ranks as well as through private hire operators. As the number of individual drivers and operators that are accredited grows we will be putting their details on this webpage so that you can quickly find one if you wish.

How to become Accredited

If you are a licensed driver or operator and would like to get accredited, please email licensing.taxis@eastherts.gov.uk.

Complaints and Feedback

If you travel in a vehicle showing the Travel with Confidence mark and you are not happy with the standards, you should make a note of the details of the vehicle and/or driver and pass the information to the council that issued the licences.
