The Village Development Applications

Two outline planning applications approved by East Herts Council.

East Herts Council recently approved two outline planning applications for the development of 8,500 homes and 1,500 homes in the Gilston Area.

Proposed by Places for People and Taylor Wimpey respectively, the proposals are known as Villages 1 to 6 and Village 7.  Together the proposals respond to the East Herts District Plan allocation for the delivery of 10,000 homes with supporting infrastructure.

The applications are designed to provide for community infrastructure including primary schools, retail, commercial, employment, sports and recreation facilities.  Community infrastructure that serves the whole development such as a health centre and two secondary schools is included in the Villages 1-6 development.

The development will take over twenty years to deliver in full and there are multiple stages to come before development starts on site.

You can view the application material on the planning portal using application references 3/19/1045/OUT and 3/19/2124/OUT.
