Ongoing technical works at Gilston Park Estate, from 13 February 2024

As part of the pre-construction commitments set out through the relevant planning applications and Environmental Statements, Places for People is due to collect water quality monitoring data. The purpose of the survey relates to works for the Central Stort Crossing and Eastern Stort Crossing sites, associated with the delivery of the Gilston Garden Town. This involves the surface water sampling and testing to provide a baseline and ongoing water quality analysis prior to and during construction.

The aim of the works is to provide baseline water quality data against which ongoing construction phase water quality sampling and testing can be compared. This data and the comparison will enable potential future changes in water quality to be assessed in a robust way and (if necessary), appropriate mitigation would be implemented.

The survey work is scheduled to start (awaiting confirmation) on Tuesday 13th February 2024 and will last from 8:00am-16:30pm for the duration of 2 days/nights.

No traffic management will be required for these works, however members of the Places for People team will be visible on site during the survey period, should the works go ahead.
