Open Space, Sport and Recreation Supplementary Planning Document consultation

The Council is consulting on a draft Open Space, Sport and Recreation Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) to support the policies in the East Herts District Plan.

Open space, sport and leisure facilities are key infrastructure that must be provided to support new development in East Herts. Developer contributions will be sought to provide and fund new or enhanced facilities. The SPD provides guidance on the type and scale of open space, sport and recreation that will be required.

The draft SPD can be viewed here alongside the Consultation Statement and Environmental Screening Statement that was prepared to determine whether the proposed SPD should be subject to Strategic Environment Assessment:

To assist in the calculation of standard charges for residential development, the Council has produced the following set of spreadsheets. These calculators to not form part of the statutory SPD but are a useful tool for applying the standards and costs set out in the document.
