Trinity Close play area in Bishop's Stortford is set to begin its makeover.

East Herts Council will be working with Groundwork East and Southern Landscapes to deliver the project which will see better functionality of the space, altering the slope of the ground to improve play value and accessibility across the play area. In response to the consultation period, the popular elements within the play area will remain, for example the slides and visitors can look forward to sunken trampolines, a fun climbing frame and sand pit play.

Eric Buckmaster, executive member for wellbeing, East Herts Council, said: "The play area at Trinity Close has always been a challenge due to the steep slope it sits on making it less accessible with a lot of unused space. The new play area will maximise play potential, using the landscape and the slope to add value rather than hinder the play area. We are looking forward to creating an area that many more people can enjoy.”

The play area will be closed from Monday 16 November for the duration of the project. The build is scheduled to be completed in January 2021.

East Herts Council are also investing in Hartham Common play area in Hertford. To keep up to date with both projects follow the council's social media channels.

You can find alternative play areas whilst these closures are in place and capacity information on the council website
