Since East Herts Council launched the lottery, more than 70 good causes have joined and it’s on track to raise more than £33,000.
Half of the £1 ticket price goes to a local charity of your choice as well as 10p going to the community fund which is used to fund grants to local good causes. So it’s a win-win for you and your favourite cause.
Geoff Williamson, executive member for financial sustainability, said: “The East Herts community lottery has proved to be a popular way for local groups to raise money by mobilising their supporters to buy tickets. Residents have welcomed this fun way to support their favourite cause while being in with a chance of winning a prize themselves.
“We’re delighted to celebrate its first birthday with this special prize draw.”
The draw is on February 22 and the result will be announced the following week. To buy tickets go to www.easthertslottery.co.uk or call 01279 912777 and you can enter the prize draw at the same time.
