Tibetan Buddhist dancing and an Islamic prayer chant were enjoyed by visitors to a diversity festival organised by East Herts Council on Sunday.

The initiative of chairman Keith Warnell with support from vice chairman Jonathan Kaye, the event featured information displays from the Muslim, Jewish, Christian, Quaker, Baha'i, Buddhist and Tibetan Buddhist communities in East Herts.

Visitors browsed the stalls and chatted to representatives of the different faiths at Fletcher's Lea in Ware.

Councillor Warnell said: "It was lovely to see people mixing and mingling at our first diversity festival. The atmosphere was friendly and informal and offered an opportunity to find out more about the variety of people who make up the community of East Herts."
