We are looking for an enthusiastic and well-motivated individual who is keen to build a career in project management. In this role you will be supporting the Major Projects Team to deliver its portfolio of work which includes capital projects with a combined value of over £100m as well as an internal transformation programme. This trainee roles offers you the opportunity to study for a NVQ in project management (the level of qualification will be relevant to the applicant’s experience). You will support the actual delivery of the team while studying. You will be given 20% off the job training, applying academic principles to practical experience. This is an excellent opportunity for anyone who sees themselves as a future project manager.
If successful some of the key responsibilities involve:
- Monitoring and reporting progress against the council’s portfolio of strategic projects
- Supporting managers with the preparation of business cases
- Support the implementation service specific and cross-cutting projects
This role will suit a focused, enthusiastic individual with a ‘can do’ attitude. Experience of delivering projects and working in a team would be helpful but is not essential for the role. We are more interesting in an individual who has a strong work ethos and is willing to learn (which includes studying for qualifications one day per week).
