Communications Officer - Maternity cover

Job information

We are looking for a talented and creative Communications Officer to join our team, covering maternity leave for up to 12 months.

You will play a pivotal role in delivering impactful communications on council services and priorities – including several exciting redevelopment projects. From parks and open spaces to housing and health, you will support our vital public services to connect with our communities.
Part of a small but busy team, you will be responsible for campaign planning and evaluation, press liaison, social and digital media management as well as ensuring the full potential of council activities are promoted to a wide range of audiences.

About you
You will have good copywriting and organisation skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines. A strong communicator across all levels, the ideal candidate will have experience of maximising engagement using a range of channels and be able to create and edit digital content, including video.

This role will suit a confident, proactive individual who enjoys getting involved in a varied mix of projects.
