Opportunities have arisen for 2 x Technical Officer Post to work at East Herts Council as part of the Environmental Health Commercial team. (1 permanent, 1 fixed term for 2 years) This is an exciting time for you to join us and develop your career as we work towards a safe and healthy environment for the residents, workers and visitors of East Herts 

The Role

As part of the commercial team you will be required to carry out proactive and reactive food hygiene inspections and interventions, investigate complaints concerning food, health and safety and infectious disease, the role includes animal licensing inspection and private water supply sampling; you will also organise the team sampling programme. 

About You

The successful candidate will support the effective delivery of the Environmental Health team’s functions by using professional skills and knowledge to identify, investigate, analyse, evaluate and advise on issues and solutions relating to the ‘commercial’ areas of environmental health.  
Applications are welcomed from students who have completed their “Higher certificate in Food control” or working towards the qualification as well as graduate / newly qualified EHP.
