Gilston Area Concept Framework Consultation

We're running a consultation to provide residents and stakeholders the chance to provide feedback on the draft Gilston Area Concept Framework. The Concept Framework sets out what the development could potentially look like and will be used to to help create more detailed plans. This consultation will help support the proposed allocation of the Gilston Area within the District Plan.

The draft Concept Framework has been prepared, and now we need your help.

Starting Monday 24 July and running until Friday 1 September, a public consultation on the Concept Framework document is being held in order to provide residents and other stakeholders with an opportunity to have their say and provide feedback on the proposals so far.

The Council previously undertook a public consultation on the District Plan in November/December 2016. This provided an opportunity for the community to submit their comments on the principle of development in this location. The issues raised at that time will be discussed through the forthcoming Examination Hearing sessions in October. However, the purpose of this consultation is to receive feedback on the information provided within the Concept Framework.

The draft Concept Framework is available to view using the links below:

Hard copies of the document are also available to view at the following locations:

  • East Herts Council Offices, Wallfields, Pegs Lane, Hertford, SG13 8EQ
  • Sawbridgeworth Library
  • Sawbridgeworth Town Council

Any comments can be emailed to or sent to the following address:

Planning Policy,
East Herts Council,
Pegs Lane,
SG13 8EQ

The developers hosted a drop in session on 5th August at the Manor of Groves Hotel in High Wych. The information boards that were on display can be viewed on the developers webpage: Exhibition Boards

Following the end of the consultation period, the Council will summarise all of the comments received, before working with the developers in order to produce a final version of the Concept Framework.
