Assistant Front Of House Manager (CH018)

Grade 5, £24,445 - £27,608 per annum (inclusive of local weighting). Full time, 37 hours per week. Fixed term until 31 January 2021. Based at Hertford Theatre. Closing date 12 noon on Friday 26 April 2019.

About the role 
 
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic Assistant Front of House Manager to support the Front of House Manager with the delivery of all aspects of the theatre and its varied arts offer. 
Hertford Theatre is a thriving arts, entertainment and community venue. Every day is different at Hertford theatre and the ability to handle a fast paced and varied work load is essential. You will be comfortable dealing with the public, celebrities, local arts organisations, and helping to manage a small team of volunteers.
Some of the key responsibilities include:

  • Duty Managing the theatre and running multiple events
  • Overseeing the Health & safety of patrons 
  • Unlocking and locking the theatre
  • Providing cover on box office when required
  • Providing cover on bar/café when required
  • Overseeing the setting up of rooms for hires and functions
  • Managing the volunteer rota
  • Formatting Duty Management rota's 
  • Cashing up the Box Office and Café/Bar
  • Overseeing the sale of merchandise 
  • Ensuring the venue remains clean, tidy and safe at all times  

About you
 
This role will suit a motivated, hardworking and enthusiastic team player who enjoys working in a customer focused environment. A flexible approach to working hours is essential. 
 
The ideal candidate will have:

  • excellent communication skills

  • experience of working with multiple stakeholders from the public and private sector
