Return your form - don't lose your vote

Canvassers are now out and about visiting homes which haven't yet returned their electoral canvass form to East Herts Council.

The council delivered Household Enquiry Forms (HEFs) to more than 60,000 households in late August.  These forms ask people to update the list of names living at that address who are entitled to vote.

Most forms have been completed and returned, either by post, phone, text or online. But people that haven't done so risk not being able to vote in polls including next May's local elections.

If you've received a reminder and still haven't returned it, please make sure you do so as soon as possible. If you think you've returned it but you're not sure and want to check, call the council on 01279 655261. You are legally required to respond to this form.

Geoffrey Williamson, executive member for finance and support services, said: "Completing the form takes a couple of minutes and will make sure you don't lose your democratic right to vote. It's time well spent so don't miss out."
