Volunteer opportunities on show at Ware

Ware Priory was buzzing at last week's volunteering roadshow when local organisations gathered to tell attendees about some of the different opportunities on offer for volunteering in the district.

East Herts Council works together with #TeamHerts volunteering who ran the event. #TeamHerts Volunteering is a one stop hub supporting over 800 charities across Hertfordshire in finding volunteers.

Ware brownie pack leader Carol went along and said: "It's been interesting for me to find out about other local groups, so we can provide an insight for our brownies on local issues and come up with ideas for working together with others to raise money for their causes."

Executive member for health and wellbeing Eric Buckmaster said: "These events are a fantastic way of letting people who might be thinking of volunteering about the organisations they might like to get involved with and the various ways in which they could help them.

"Volunteering is also rewarding for the individual, as it can help with making contacts and improve job prospects. It also helps with self-confidence as well as feeling good."
