How to Vote

You can vote in person at a polling station, by post or by proxy. In order to vote you must be registered to vote.

Postal Vote

To vote by post you must be a registered voter and complete the  Postal Vote Application form [66KB] .

Completed application forms must be returned either by post to:

Electoral Services
East Herts Council
Wallfields
Pegs Lane
Hertford
SG13 8EQ

Or email electors@eastherts.gov.uk. If you have any trouble downloading the application form from this site or do not have a printer, please call electoral services on 01279 655261 and we will send you an application form in the post.

Your application form must be with us by 5pm 11 working days before an election.

You can have a postal vote for one election or for all future elections.

Proxy Vote

To vote by proxy you and your proxy must be registered to vote and eligible to vote in that election.

You must complete the  Proxy Vote Application form [66KB] .

Completed application forms must be returned either by post to:

You can only vote by proxy for a one election unless you have a work or medical reason.

Voting at the polling station

When registering to vote you will automatically be registered to vote at the polling station unless you complete one of the application forms above.

You will receive a poll card before the election which will tell you where your polling station is.
