Help for Empty Home Owners

Leaving a home empty costs the owner money in utility bills, council tax and higher insurance and mortgage costs. We want to work with the owners to bring the home back in to use.

We want to work with the owners of empty properties in our district to bring them back into use. Here are some ways we can help:

Advice and Support

  • Discuss your options
  • Provide information and signpost to other services
  • Help to identify work needed before letting
  • Active support where needed (eg liaise with agents, help with clearance etc)

To discuss any advice and support we can offer, please contact the Empty Homes Officer at East Herts Council by telephone on 01992 531502 or email environmental.health@eastherts.gov.uk
