Dog Fouling

Request Description

1) What is East Herts District Council's Policy on clearing dog mess from pavements and parks that has been reported by a member of public and logged by the Council with a report reference number?

2) It is my understanding that Defra's Code of Practice on Litter and Refuse states that parks and pavements on housing estates should be classed as "medium intensity use" and should be cleared of dog mess within a 24 hour timescale once the Council has been made aware.

Please advise why East Herts District Council do not clear pavements and parks in Ware when notified of dog fouling by members of the public, including when a specific request has been made for the dog fouling to be removed? (This question applies to both isolated dog fouling incidents and also when there are multiple dog fouling incidents within fairly close proximity either on a pavement in a built up area or in a park.
