Flood investigations

Request Description

Please provide the following information:

1. The number of incidents reported to the Council regarding residential properties which flooded on 16/17 July and on 26 August 2015 in Bishop's Stortford.

2. The number of the above incidents which have been investigated by the Council as of 16 September.

3. Details of any investigations into residential floodings carried out by the Council in the last 12 months and action taken by the Council as a result.

4. Confirmation that the Council is responsible for the maintenance of the drains and gullies on Stort Road, and, if so, details and dates regarding when the Council last had these drains cleared

A4. East Herts District Council is not responsible for maintenance of drains and gullies. These are the responsibility of Herts County Council Highways if the road has been adopted and/or Thames Water if there is a public sewer drainage serving the road
