Youth Homelessness

Request Description

A majority of the information we are requesting is based on the P1E form, but for people aged 16-24. This covers people housed under the Housing Act 1996 and prevention/relief statistics for people aged 16-24.

We kindly request the information in queries 1-4 below for:

  • The calendar years, 2012, 2013, 2014 (Jan-Dec). If the whole year is not yet available for 2014, please provide the data from the last available 4 quarters. Please indicate for which quarters you have provided data.
  • Ages 16-24, with a breakdown by age in the following categories:
    • 16-17 year olds
    • 18-24 year olds

Query 1: Homelessness presentations, assessments and eligibility in 2012, 2013 and 2014

Within your local authority, what were the number of 16-24 year olds who:

(a) Presented themselves as homeless, or at risk of homelessness

(b) Were subsequently assessed under the Housing Act 1996

(c) Were offered advice and assistance to secure accommodation, including access to supported accommodation (note- this will apply to those either not assessed under the Housing Act or who were not found 'eligible, unintentionally homeless and in priority need')

Under the Housing Act 1996:
