2. What is the tendering process if I wanted to supply my company's services to the council?

  1. How does the council choose suppliers? In accordance with its financial and procurement regulations contained within its constitution that is available on the Council's web site. Procurement Regulations

2. What is the tendering process if I wanted to supply my company's services to the council? See answer to 1 above.

3a. Is there an online directory used by the council when selecting suppliers? No. dependent on the overall spend is dependent on how suppliers are approached.  As per answer to 1 above

3b. What is the name of the directory and where does the council place notices when seeking a supplier?  As above.   Notices are put on our website, Supply Herts website and Contracts Finder

4. What is the name(s) and address details of the funeral director used by the council? Daniel Robinsons and Sons or  Powells Funeral Service

5. Does the council deal with public health funerals? Yes in certain specific circumstances.

6. How many public health funerals have taken place within the last year (from March 2014 to the present)? Please see: Public Burials  

7a. Which department(s) are involved within the public health funeral process? Democratic and Legal Support Services.

We don't typically use these companies as by the time the cases are referred by the coroner, investigation has usually revealed there are no relatives willing or able to arrange the funeral etc...
