Request Description

Please see below seven questions on parks and green spaces in your local authority area. These questions are being asked under the Freedom of Information Act 2004. Please answer as many of the questions as possible.

1. What is the total number of publicly accessible a) parks, b) village greens, c) community gardens, d) woodland, e) allotments, f) nature reserves currently in your local authority area, and what was the figure in 2009/10?

2. What is the total number of publicly accessible a) parks, b) village greens, c) community gardens, d) woodland, e) allotments, f) nature reserves in your local authority area for which members of the public are charged to access (including spaces which only charge for access on particular days of the year or for certain events), and what was the corresponding figure for each in 2009/10?

3. What is your local authority's total budget allocation for spend on a) parks, b) village greens, c) community gardens, d) woodland, e) allotments, f) nature reserves in your local authority area for 2014/15, and what was the total budget allocation for each in 2009/10?

4. How many staff are employed by your local authority to maintain or manage a) parks, b) village greens, c) community gardens, d) woodland, e) allotments, f) nature reserves in your local authority area in the year 2014/15, and how many were employed for each in 2009/10?

1.  What is the total number of publicly accessible a) parks, b) village greens, c) community gardens, d) woodland, e) allotments, f) nature reserves currently in your local authority area, and what was the figure in 2009/10?  We do not hold this information

2.  What is the total number of publicly accessible a) parks, b) village greens, c) community gardens, d) woodland, e) allotments, f) nature reserves in your local authority area for which members of the public are charged to access (including spaces which only charge for access on particular days of the year or for certain events), and what was the corresponding figure for each in 2009/10? We do not hold this information

3. What is your local authority's total budget allocation for spend on a) parks, b) village greens, c) community gardens, d) woodland, e) allotments, f) nature reserves in your local authority area for 2014/15, and what was the total budget allocation for each in 2009/10? We do not hold this information.  The Council does not split its expenditure by these categories and is not responsible for all open spaces in the local authority area.

4. How many staff are employed by your local authority to maintain or manage a) parks, b) village greens, c) community gardens, d) woodland, e) allotments, f) nature reserves in your local authority area in the year 2014/15, and how many were employed for each in 2009/10? We do not split our staff resouces by these categories.  The Parks and Open Spaces Client Team consisits of 5 staff.  However, contrractors undertake all maintenance works on open spaces under our control and we do not keep records of the number of staff they employ.

5. What is the total number of publicly accessible a) parks, b) village greens, c) community gardens, d) woodland, e) allotments, f) nature reserves currently in your local authority area which have limited opening hours, and what was the figure in 2009/10?  We do not keep records of the opening hours of open spaces outside our control.  For those within our control 1 and 1 in 09/10.

6. What is the current total area in km2 of publicly accessible a) parks, b) village greens, c) community gardens, d) woodland, e) allotments, f) nature reserves currently in your local authority area, and what was it in 2009/10?  Where we hold information of the nature requested, it is published in the Councils Annual and Authority Monitoring Reports.   We do not have further information.

What was the total number of publicly accessible a) parks, b) village greens, c) community gardens, d) woodland, e) allotments, f) nature reserves currently in your local authority area for which the management or services are provided by an outside organisation rather than the local authority, and what was the corresponding figure for each in 2009/10?  We do not hold this information
