Air Quality

Request Description

Can you please supply me with the latest, together with historic road traffic\air quality figures (with explanatory detail) measured\sampled closest to my address (XXX London Road, Bishop's Stortford, CMXX XXX)

Can you also please include your plans & efforts to reduce & mitigate "pollution" in Bishop's Stortford, particularly in the London Road\Hockerill lights area.

Please see  the AQ Progress Report for 2014 (downloads section below).   East Herts Council have a network of diffusion tubes in the area to monitor concentrations of Nitrogen Dioxide.   The diffusion tubes located nearest to your house are EH19, 39 and 40.  These are located on a lamppost outside 8 London Road.

The results are above the annual mean objective  of 40ugM3 and consequently the site was declared an Air Quality Management Area in 2007.  The Council has been working with Hertfordshire County Council to try and reduce the concentrations of Nitrogen Dioxide in the area.  Copy of the Air Quality Action Plan in downloads section below.  The first part is a county wide action plan but the section that applies to East Herts begins on page 28.
