Adopted Neighbourhood Plan

The Neighbourhood Plan has been formally 'adopted' and will be used as a part of the East Herts Development Plan.

Referendum Result

On 6 May 2021, the Neighbourhood Plan for Thundridge Referendum took place. The Neighbourhood Plan has been voted on and approved by the residents of the Parish. With a turnout of 43%, there was an overall 'yes' vote of 470 (89%), votes against 56 (11%). The final votes and overall election results can be found on our Local Elections 2021 Results Page. 

Publication of the Plan

The Independent Examination has concluded.

Although the Plan has been approved for referendum by the examiner and the Council, changes have been introduced in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, which prevents a referendum taking place until May 2021. In accordance with Government guidance, the Neighbourhood Plan can be given significant weight in decision-making, providing the Plan is material to the application.

Independent Examination

Ann Skippers MRTPI has been appointed to undertake the independent examination of the Thundridge Neighbourhood Plan. All correspondence between the examiner and East Herts Council will be published below.

Notice of Consultation

Two-week Consultation.

On the 11th May 2020 the Examiner provided notice of Significant Changes to the Thundridge Neighbourhood Plan (detailed below). Given the nature of the changes the Examiner is seeking comments from interested parties on the proposed modifications to the Neighbourhood Plan.

The consultation period will last for two weeks between 19 May and 2 June 2020. All comments should be made in writing and sent to: planningpolicy@eastherts.gov.uk.

Submission to East Herts – Reg 16 Public Consultation

On the 11th October 2019 Thundridge Parish Council submitted the Thundridge Neighbourhood Plan to East Herts District Council under Regulation 15 of the Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012.

A 6-week public consultation will be held from the 7th November – 19th December 2019 where comments can be made on the Plan and submitted to East Herts District Council.

Please use the comment form below to make a representation. These can either be emailed to planningpolicy@eastherts.gov.uk or hard copies can be returned to the Council Offices in Hertford only (address below).

Within the comment form, there is the option to be notified of the Local Planning Authorities decision to ‘make’ the Neighbourhood Plan under Regulation 19. That is the decision whether to make the Neighbourhood Plan part of the development plan for East Herts District. Please tick the appropriate box.

Any representations made should be addressed ‘FAO Policy & Implementation’.

Pre-Submission Consultation (Reg 14)

Thundridge Parish Council consulted on their Draft Neighbourhood Plan between 17 February and 5 April 2019. The Plan was then submitted to East Herts Council.

Neighbourhood Area Designation
