On referral of the matter to the Government Office, they have been called in for a decision to be made by the Secretary of State. This decision will be made following a public inquiry. Originally, the proposals that had been submitted by Tesco's for the redevelopment of its site at Ware Road, Hertford, and which were refused by the Council, were to be considered at the same Inquiry. However, the Tesco scheme has now been withdrawn and the Inquiry will deal with the Sainsbury's proposals only.
