East of England Regional PlanThe East of England Plan was published in 2008 as the Regional Spatial Strategy (RSS) for the East of England Region. It was prepared by the East of England Regional Assembly (EERA). Revocation of the East of England PlanOn 3rd January 2013, an Order was laid before Parliament that formally revoked the East of England Plan. This was the first regional plan to be revoked in the country. The Plan was subject to a strategic environmental assessment to assess the likely significant effects of revoking it. Localism Act 2011The Localism Act which received Royal Assent on 15th November 2011 provides for the abolition of Regional Strategies. Legal Challenge to RSS RevocationA house builder successfully challenged the Secretary of State's revocation of regional strategies.
