What is the District Plan?

What is the District plan? - find out more about the new two-part plan (previously known as the LDF) that the Council is legally required to produce to meet the future development needs of East Herts and its residents. This Plan will replace the Local Plan 2007. 

Part 1: Strategy - identifying the broad locations and principles for development

Part 2: Allocations and Policies - setting out site specific allocations and generic development management policies

Accompanying District Planning Documents 

Annual Monitoring Report (AMR) - monitors the implementation of planning policies in East Herts including the 15 year housing trajectory

Local Development Scheme (LDS) - setting out the timetable for the preparation of the District Plan

Statement of Community Involvement (SCI) - setting out the approach to engaging the community in plan-making 

Evidence and Technical Information

Technical Studies - provide information and evidence to inform the preparation of the District plan

Sustainability Appraisal - identifies and evaluates the impact of a plan on the economy, community and environment 

Habitats Regulations Assessment - assesses the effect of a plan on wildlife sites of European importance

Call for Sites - suggestions for sites for development from landowners, developers and other interested parties
