Adopted Landscape Character Assessment SPDIntroductionThe Landscape Character Assessment (LCA) SPD was adopted on 12 September 2007 and supplements Policy GBC14 of the Local Plan Second Review. It provides guidance on preserving and enhancing the local distinctiveness and character of the landscape of East Herts outside the main settlements. The Landscape Character Assessment has identified 63 individual and distinct character areas across East Herts. Each character area includes a Summary, Assessment, and Evaluation before concluding with a set of Guidelines for managing change. The document was produced by The Landscape Partnership on behalf of East Herts Council and Hertfordshire County Council and was subject to public consultation during its preparation.
