Preventing draughts is probably the cheapest way to reduce energy cost and increase comfort.

Old doors and windows may suffer with cold draughts through leaky frames. These may be improved by draught-stripping.

Many products are available from simple stick-on foam products to more durable rubber or metal strips. See your local DIY centre for details of products available. Some modem doors are made of metal or PVCu and contain insulation.
