Parking Smartcards - Cashless Payments for ParkingIntroductionParking Smartcards are a convenient alternative to carrying pockets full of change to pay for parking in East Herts car parks. The cards carry a cash equivalent value in an embedded microchip. Simply insert the card into the pay and display machine and press the "increment" button to select the tariff you wish to purchase.
A 10 percent discount applies to 5 hour (where available) and all day tickets purchased using the parking Smartcard. Smartcards can be bought in person from the Council's offices in Bishop's Stortford and Hertford. They can also be purchased by post. Simply download, complete and send off the application form at the bottom of this page. Please note that a £2 p&p surcharge applies to postal applications and should be added to your remittance. Because the Smartcard is not tied to any particular car park or user, it can be shared between family, friends or even work colleagues. You should take good care of your parking Smartcard as lost or stolen cards can not be replaced or refunded.
