The Council's Grants Programme aims to improve the economic, environmental and social wellbeing of people who live in East Herts.

New Playground, Stanstead Abbotts

East Herts Council distributes more than £500,000 in discretionary grants each year. The purpose of this funding is to improve economic, environmental and social wellbeing for people living and working in East Hertfordshire, especially those who are vulnerable.

Through its 2010/2011 grants programme, the Council made 109 awards to voluntary and community organisations, village halls, parish and town councils. Awards ranged from small discretionary grants agreed by a District Councillor, to larger capital grants from our match funding scheme. The Council also commissions and provides financial support to specialist services from the East Herts Citizens Advice Service, Hertfordshire Community Meals, Papworth Home Improvement Agency, Papworth Handyperson Services, and the East Herts YMCA among others.
