Hiring the Hall
It consists of three main units: the Foyer, the River Room and the Main Hall itself, each is centrally heated, with catering and bar services throughout. Each is fully licensed for music and dancing and can be hired as a single unit or individually (with the exception of the Foyer area which requires the permission of the Hall Manager).
The flexibility afforded by the three units is such that the facilities offered range from accommodation suitable for small committees to use as a centre for meetings and full-scale business conferences, through receptions of all kinds to stage musicals, dinner-dances, formal banquets and public meetings with seating for 500!

Notes on Hiring
Please read these notes carefully before completing the application form:
- Verbal bookings are provisionally held for 15 days only, pending receipt of application form and deposit.
- Booking times must include setting and clearing (allow sufficient time for bands etc. to vacate premises).
- The balance of all charges must be paid in full to the Council not less than 28 days prior to the date of the hiring save that, in the case of an application for hiring made during the 28 day period charges must be paid in full at the time of booking.
- No beverages, alcohol or otherwise, may be brought into Castle Hall for consumption or sale except tea and coffee. If you require a bar for your function, you must contact us on 01992 531446.
- Hirers are responsible for the security and supervision of front-of-house and cloakroom areas when in use during their period of hire.
- Your application form must be returned with £100 deposit (or 20% whichever is greater), for Main Hall bookings. River Room bookings require 20% deposit.
- Cheques should be made payable to: East Herts District Council.
